Important information about claiming your Long Service Leave Benefits at this time of year

As we get close to the end of the financial year, we want to make sure you have the information you need to claim your Long Service Leave Benefit.

Taking leave before 30 June 2025?

We are currently experiencing a high volume of claims, which means our standard processing times are longer. If you are planning to take long service leave soon, we recommend submitting your application as early as possible to avoid delays.

Due to the current volume of claims, we can’t guarantee that claims submitted now, with a leave start date before 30 June 2025, will be processed this financial year.

Want your Benefit paid after 30 June 2025?

Claims for Long Service Leave Benefits are processed on a first in, first out basis. We are currently unable to delay the payment of Long Service Leave Benefits until the leave start date on your claim form.

This means that if you want your Long Service Leave Benefit paid in the new financial year, you should submit your claim on or after 1 July 2025.

If you submit your claim before 1 July 2025, it might be processed in the current financial year, even if your leave starts later.

If you have any questions or need more details on how the process works, what information you need to provide, or how your pay rate will be calculated, please visit our Claiming Long Service Leave help page.
