We wanted to give our members a heads-up about long service leave claims at End of Financial Year (EOFY) so that you can try to get ahead of the curve and make the most of your well-earned break.

In the run up to EOFY we typically see a big increase in claims for long service leave benefits, so it’s really important to get your application in early. We are recommending that members submit their application to claim a long service leave benefit before Wednesday 15 May 2024 for the best chance of receiving your benefit payment in the 2023-2024 Financial Year.

If you would like your long service leave benefit to be paid in the 2024-2025 Financial Year, please submit your claim application after Monday 1 July 2024.

For all 2023-2024 Financial Year claims, make sure to submit your application as early as possible. If you submit your claim after Wednesday 15 May 2024, we are unlikely to be able to process your claim before the end of the 2023-2024 Financial Year – applications can also take longer to process if we are required to verify details or obtain further information.

If you’d like to know more about how the process works, what you will need when submitting your application, or how your rate of pay will be calculated, check out our ‘Claiming Long Service Leave‘ help page.
